A new ‘Orienteering Area’ at the Pyramide du Loup!
Come and test your sense of direction…
Alone, with friends or family, you can try these orienteering courses in the heart of nature.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced orienteer, there’s a course for all levels.
Three orienteering courses have been designed and set up by
Fabrice Thomassin, Jean-Luc Delmotte & Cécile Delmotte.
But what exactly is an orienteering course?
The principle is to find the markers! Like a treasure hunt, the aim is to find the markers by following the route of your choice using a special orienteering map and possibly a compass. The goal is to complete the course as quickly as possible.
To prove you have completed the course, you must mark your passage at each marker by punching a control card and have your results validated by the organiser when you arrive.
E.S.O.: an asset for environmental protection
By combining orienteering in a fun, recreational or sporting way with the educational process, these specially designed areas offer additional motivation and appeal to raise awareness of environmental issues among the sporting community. This practice restores nature to everyone’s cultural heritage. It teaches us to live with and for nature by developing behavioural and moral practices that are mindful of environmental preservation.
